Young members of the John William Jackson Rock Climbing Team celebrated at a year-end pizza party at Urban Ascent, a popular Boise climbing facility.
Note: The Fund’s first ever grant ($2750) in 2001 was awarded to a single recipient, the Treasure Valley Family YMCA for their climbing program. Compare that amount to last year grant awards totaling $130,00 for programs and projects benefiting Idaho youth.
The Fund was established in memory of John Jackson who was killed along with his Taiwanese climbing partner Shou Tse in a tragic mountain climbing accident in Central Asia.
