Congratulations to Pablo Rodriguez, who received the 2012 Idaho Governor’s Awards in the Arts for Support of Arts Education at the College of South Idaho in Twin Falls.  Pablo formed a Mariachi group of young students, Mariachi Tleyotltzin (“little hearts of fire”), to keep the Mexican culture vibrant and to provide role models for the younger generations.  Earlier this year, Mariachi Tleyotltzin through the Hispanic Cultural Center received a $1000 grant from the John William Jackson Fund (JWJF) to purchase musical instruments and have performed at several JWJF events.  Pictured are Bill “Action” & Jackie Jackson and Patty & Pablo Rodriguez.
